PG&E, the investor-owned utility servicing 16 million people across California, contracts with Palantir Technologies, the surveillance company committing human rights abuses in Palestine and collaborating with ICE to deport and imprison your neighbors.
PG&E has contracted with Palantir since at least 2021. This multi-million dollar contract was awarded without any consideration of viable alternatives. Handing millions of ratepayers’ dollars to a war profiteer without exploring alternatives is profoundly irresponsible. The bare minimum PG&E owes its customers is to ensure our utility bills do not bankroll fascism, death and destruction. PG&E also needs to guarantee the safety of ratepayer data in the hands of such a genocidal surveillance company (see Palantir’s 22-point manifesto).
Our Demands
We are calling on PG&E to:
Terminate all contracts with Palantir immediately.
Stop funding human rights abuses. Commit to an ethical procurement policy that bans contracts with companies facilitating genocide and mass deportations.
Guarantee ratepayer’s data isn't used for mass surveillance.
